Modern Horror Masterpiece
A Quiet Place has an interesting concept on paper that had been executed perfectly on screen by the talented cast and great use of the musical score. This is the definition of suspense. The tension was pulpable and the whole movie was just exhilarating from start to finish. This may be one of the best films of this year. A definite must-watch. I think this will go down as one of the Modern Classics for Horror Films.
Alright first this movie is awesome, love the cast and love the concept. It was silence, suspenseful and scary. Never have i watch a movie this silence and the tense is real, other then the acting the sound design are kind of the main character here as it was done purposeful and unwavering. Go and watch it if you’re a horror or thriller movie lover and i am sure you will love it.
This movie was done really well and some of the scenes would make someone panic. The plot seemed realistic and not over dramatised and it was a good portrayal of family and love.
If u want to take a selfie with a full theatre doing the same action as you, watch this and you know what I mean. It is so silent until breathing can be heard, it is more a thrilling than a horror movie. Great job by the director and producers. It is certainly the movie of the month if there is no infinite war
The first of it’s kind, I have never experienced a horror film this intense and anxiety-inducing. Was holding my breath the entire time! Such a simple concept, and even simpler was the deeper theme of family, parenthood and protecting your loved ones. The depth of the emotions and connections shared between the characters were so raw, and perfectly portrayed without any dialogue at all. Amazing performances by the child actors too.
Really loved that this movie preys on the one survival instinct most humans have, scream for help!!! But John plays a calm and endearing father who can think of nothing else but to protect his family. I wouldn’t really consider this a horror film, the music builds up suspense, hence you know when a jump scare is about to happen.
Didn’t watch the trailer so I entered the theatre thinking it was a ghost movie and was pleasantly surprised! Really good suspense plot that we held our breath all the way with the characters, mindblowing!!!
Quite an interesting take on the horror genre, kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Takes watching this film in a cinema to a whole new level as sound plays a huge role, if not THE role, in the entire film. Considering how majority of the film requires little to no sound, visuals play a huge part in the movie - which was executed extremely well in the different scenes with the usage of lighting, colors and props. The film does not focus on the backstory and the resolution, but instead on the process throughout the survival and revelation. There is a whole lot of subtlety in the film that tells a lot about things that are not explicitly mentioned or shown, which I find to be extremely rewarding as a viewer to pick up. Creature design is pretty intriguing as well, and the outstanding performances of the cast makes it very immersive. Overall, definitely one of my top horror films.
