Taiwanese Hit Movie To Get A Sequel, Aims To Make Us Cry Even Harder

It’s the touching love story that swept our nation nearly three years ago. Now, high school milquetoast Lin Chen-hsin and campus bad boy Hsu Tai-yu are about to make us gush and sob all over again.

Yes, that’s right: Taiwanese coming-of-age romantic comedy Our Times (我的少女時代) is reportedly getting a follow-up set for release sometime next year.

Surprisingly, the sequel will not be called Our Times 2 due to copyright issues. The project remains untitled for now.

Frankie Chen and Sabrina Tseng will return to direct and pen the script, respectively. Reports have suggested that Darren Wang will reprise his role as Hsu Tai-yu, but Vivian Sung will not be returning due to other filming commitments.

For those who are unfamiliar, the original film follows a dejected office worker who reminisces about her bittersweet high school experiences. Directed by Frankie Chen and starring Vivian Sung, Darren Wang and Joe Chen as the leads, with cameos by former F4 member Jerry Yan and Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau, Our Times (我的少女時代) is currently the highest-grossing Taiwanese movie of all-time in Singapore.
